52.1. Why Embedded SQL?
与处理 SQL 查询的其他方式相比，嵌入式 SQL 有一些小的优势。它负责了在 C 程序的变量之间移动信息的全部繁琐工作。许多 RDBMS 软件包都支持这种嵌入式语言。
有一个 ANSI 标准描述了这种嵌入式语言应当如何工作。ecpg 的设计尽可能满足这个标准。因此可以把为其他 RDBMS 软件包编写的嵌入式 SQL 程序移植到 Postgres，从而弘扬自由软件的精神。
